Central California Armenian-Americans Mourn the Death of Former ANC Director Richard Darmanian |

Fresno, CA - Members of Fresno's Armenian-American community are mourning the death of their beloved friend and leader Richard Darmanian, who died on June 10, 2008. He was 81 years old.
"The ANC mourns the loss of our dear friend and colleague Richard Darmanian," stated ANC-WR Chairman Vicken Sonentz Papazian, "Richard embodied the best of Fresno Armenians, from his love of nation and dedication to the Armenian Cause to his understated yet unyielding pride in his family and heritage. He will be dearly missed."
Darmanian had been a member of Fresno's Armenian Revolutionary Federation's (ARF) Soghomon Tehlirian Gomideh for more than 60 years. In 1984 he opened the Armenian National Committee (ANC) office in Fresno and served as ANC Central California Director for over 15 years. Services will be held for Darmanian on Saturday June 14 at Holy Trinity Armenian Apostolic Church in Fresno at 10:00 am.
