ANCA Rising Leaders 2024 | Washington, DC

Experience life in the nation’s capital – all while making friends, exploring career options, and advancing Armenian American priorities – through the ANCA Rising Leaders Program.

During the three-day seminar in Washington, DC, participants will:

Get expert advice on your career search, from resume and cover letter preparation to networking and interview skills.

Gain insights from professionals about careers in government, development, and media and the current DC job market.

Meet with Congressional offices to strengthen US-Armenia ties, defend Artsakh, and secure justice for the Armenian Genocide.

Two Sessions to Fit Your Schedule:

The ANCA is offering Armenian American university students and recent graduates two participation options – March 10th to 12th, 2024, and March 24th to 26th, 2024 – to coincide with the two major Spring Break timelines at most universities. Washington, DC, area Armenian American high school seniors are also welcome to participate. ANCA group housing accommodations are available for youth 18 and over.

Simple Application Process:

Interested students are encouraged to submit the application available below. The top 25 applicants, chosen based on academic excellence and proven community youth leadership, will participate in each session. The application deadline is extended to March 7, 2024. Successful applicants will be notified by March 4th for Session 1 and March 9th for Session 2.

Your Participation Options:

Successful applicants have two participation options – one that offers housing for the 3-day program ($100) and the other, which includes program fees alone ($25). Students are responsible for travel to and from Washington, DC. Financial aid will be provided based on need and availability.

ANCA Rising Leaders Program Schedule:

Sunday: A day of interactive presentations by the ANCA Hovig Apo Saghdejian Capital Gateway Program Advisory Committee (CGPAC) focusing on career search fundamentals from resume preparation and networking 101 to an overview of the Washington, DC internship and the job market.

Monday: Meetings with policy, politics and media professionals on careers in the nation’s Capital followed by an extended session with ANCA team members on advancing community priorities on the federal, state, and local levels.

Tuesday: Lucine Kouchakdjian Capitol Hill Day – a full day of Capitol Hill discussions with legislators and staff on strengthening U.S.-Armenia ties, supporting Artsakh freedom and securing justice for the Armenian Genocide.

Throughout the program, ample opportunities will be provided to explore Washington, DC, and make new friends.
