11/19/19 - Sen. Schumer posted the following to Facebook: "This new assessment from the Defense Intelligence Agency confirms many of our worst fears:

President Trump's precipitous withdrawal of troops from northern Syria has given ISIS a lifeline.

Despite this new, deeply concerning report, we still don’t have a plan from the president for how he will ensure the enduring defeat of ISIS.

Instead, the president continues to demonstrate an uncanny ability to get steamrolled by autocrats like Erdogan and Putin without getting anything in return.

Mr. President, where is your plan to defeat ISIS and protect the United States?

01/15/19 - Sen. Schumer posted the following to Facebook: "He’s a center for the New York Knicks. But he’s not joining them in London when they play the Washington Wizards for the NBA’s Global Games series because he has legitimate fears for his safety.

Enes Kanter is a Turkish citizen. He has been an outspoken critic of President Erdogan. And that’s why he fears that Turkish agents might follow him to London.

Turkey is a democracy with a long tradition of tolerance of civic discourse and a valued NATO ally in many endeavors, but the current Turkish government under President Erdogan is on an anti-democratic spiral.

Thank you Enes Kanter for coming here to the Senate to talk about why it’s so important to push Turkey to uphold human rights." View the Facebook post here.
