YEREVAN (ARKA)—Sales of Shadowmatic, a mobile application game developed by Triada Studio, an Armenian information technology company, have surged ten times after a special discount was announced by Apple, the company’s technical director Bagrat Dabaghyan told ARKA.
Due to fluctuations in exchange rates, Apple has lowered the minimum price for content developers and users of the App Store in Armenia, Russia, Mexico, South Korea, India, Turkey, Indonesia, South Africa and other countries.
Dabaghyan said Russian users can download Shadowmatic for just 15 rubles instead of the previous 169 rubles.
“Users from China and Russia have increased the downloading of the game. Although it did not translate into increased profits, the game has become more popular, which is good,” said Dabaghyan.
The discount began on July 15 and will continue till July 31, he said.
Shadowmatic was awarded an Apple Design Award earlier this year at the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference in San Francisco. Shadowmatic was launched on January 15. It is available in 14 languages, including Armenian and now features new additions playing modes, including Arcade Mode and new levels for children.
