YEREVAN (Arka)—Armenian president Serzh Sarkisian has appointed Armen Gevorkyan as secretary of the National Security Council on June 6. Armen Gevorgyan held previously various senior positions in the government, the last one being Deputy Prime Minister.
Introducing Gevorkyan to senior officials of the National Security Council, which is an advisory body, Sarkisian said he has sufficient experience to properly perform the complicated duties of the National Security Council secretary.
“I have known Armen Gevorgyan for almost 20 years and I do not remember a single instance when he would have found it difficult to perform his duties,â€
