NANJING—Armenian artist Sevada Grigoryan’s solo exhibition entitled “To the Light” opened to the public in Nanjing, China. The exhibition features Grigoryan’s paintings mainly from Chinese series which are quite different compared to the works done in Armenia. The artist explains this as a result of his impressions from Chinese art and culture.
The exhibition attracted many Chinese as well as foreign art lovers. Such powerful concepts such as family, love and peace play significant roles in Grigoryan’s paintings. The exhibition also included his graphic works on collaged book pages, aiming to bring back to life the culture of reading books.
Armenian folk music composed by Komitas Vardapet will play at the exhibition throughout its 3-month duration.
