AMSTERDAM (Combined Sources) — Five wine-making companies of Armenia, including “Zorah”, “Trinity”, “Voskeni”, “Karas” and “Armenia” were represented with the support of the Development Foundation of Armenia at the 2016 Wine Professional Festival, which was held on the sidelines of the Horecava Food Festival in Amsterdam from January 11 to 13.
According to the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the opening ceremony of the festival was conducted by the festival’s general director Jan-Sebastian Fan Lisum and Armenia’s Ambassador to the Netherlands Dzyunik Aghajanyan.
In her opening speech, the Ambassador welcomed the presentation of Armenian wines in the European market, especially in the professional field, which was made possible by young Armenian winemakers who used state-of-the-art technologies to introduce the traditions of wine production spanning millennia to consumers at large, providing them with the opportunity to enjoy their scent and taste.
During the festival, Armenia’s winemakers also had the chance to present their wines and the peculiarities of making those wines through a taster/exhibition.
Every year, the festival attracts over 10,000 visitors, including importers, expert chefs and representatives of restaurants.
