Funds Will Bolster Social Programs for People in Need
LOS ANGELES—The Los Angeles City Council on Tuesday approved $45,000 in grant funds for the Armenian Relief Society of Western U.S.A. This effort was led by Councilmember Paul Krekorian.

The funding, made possible through savings from the Urban Development Action Grant, will establish case management staff to ensure access to services for the residents of North Hollywood and throughout Los Angeles.

ARS, a philanthropic non-profit organization, provides access to social, health, and welfare services and programs to people of all backgrounds throughout Los Angeles, including new immigrants, refugees, the elderly, and those who have difficulties accessing services due to language barriers.

Krekorian said: “These grant funds will be used to improve the lives of people in the San Fernando Valley and throughout Los Angeles. The Armenian Relief Society has a strong track record of providing vital services to Armenian and non-Armenian residents, and I am happy that we are dedicating more resources to programs that directly support community members in need.â€
