All lights were turned off on Saturday at Birmigham High School field in Van Nuys, where the 40th annual Homenetmen Navasartian Games were underway in solidarity with the protest action that is beginning its 14th day in Armenia demanding the reversal of electrical rate hikes. The thousands gathered at the Navasartian Games immediately raised their cellphones to light up the night and began singing Mer Hairenik–the Armenian National Anthem
