YEREVAN (Armenpress) — Armenian President Serzh Sarkissian participated in the opening ceremony of the National Defense Research University of Armenia.
The Ministers of Defense of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh, top officials of the Armenian Armed Forces, foreign ambassadors to Armenia and guests, and academics attended the opening ceremony.
Sarkissian toured the newly erected building, and got acquainted with the programs and working conditions at the university.
Welcoming speeches were delivered by Professor of the Dwight D. Esenhower School for National Security and Resource Strategy James Keagle, the Director of National Security Programs of the Harvard Kennedy School Lieutenant Ted Olsthoorn, and Doctor of Political Sciences Alexander Nikitin.
A report by Professor Hayk Kotanjyan, Doctor of Political Sciences and Director of Institute of National Strategic Studies after Drastamat Kanayan followed the welcoming speeches.
Under a decree by the Armenian President, Medals of Gratitude were awarded to James Keagle, Ted Olsthoorn, Alexander Nikitin and Nikolay Bordyuzha.
