Dear Friend,
First, a special word of thanks.
For helping the ANCA defeat Dr. Mehmet Cengiz Öz.
Dear Friend,
First, a special word of thanks.
For helping the ANCA defeat Dr. Mehmet Cengiz Öz.
For keeping this Armenian Genocide denier out of the U.S. Senate.
Together, we stopped an Erdogan ally – a dual-Turkish citizen who volunteered for the Turkish army – from serving six-years inside the U.S. Senate as a vote for Turkey, a veto against Armenia.
With your help, Armenian Americans – left, right and center – united with ethnic and faith-based coalition partners across Pennsylvania to beat Öz in the nation’s highest profile Senate race (Check out the press clippings).
Now, you know the ANCA is respected as relentless. There’s surely truth to that, but the reality’s simpler –more straightforward: We’re principled, persistent, and results-oriented. We fight hard, work smart, and never give up.
Over the years, you’ve heard folks say: “If they had offended another ethnic group like this, there would be hell to pay!”
Well, Öz crossed the Armenians, and there sure was hell to pay.
It cost him (and Erdogan) six years in the United States Senate.
You deserve our heartfelt thanks for this victory. But, with the dangers facing Artsakh and Armenia, there’s no time to celebrate.
Right now, we need to double down.
That’s why I am writing to ask you for your renewed financial support.
So we can be even more assertive, more demanding – higher impact and more effective.
By defending what’s right and taking the fight directly to the Turkish and Azerbaijani lobbies.
Make no mistake. Ankara and Baku are conspiring to erase our heritage, to end our homeland. It’s not secret at all. It’s their strategy –public and proud.
As you read this message, they’re working to force Artsakh under Azerbaijan, seize a southern corridor across Armenia, and impose crushing concessions upon our Armenian nation.
You know the stakes.
Artsakh abandoned. Armenia isolated. The Armenian Genocide forgotten. Our sacred nation forsaken.
These are their genocidal aims – pure and simple – as cruel as they are evil.
In Washington, this translates into Turkish and Azerbaijani lobbyists bribing and bullying policy-makers to:
— Send even more of your U.S. tax dollars to Azerbaijan
— Block U.S. humanitarian assistance to families in Artsakh
— Ship F-16s and other advanced weapons systems to Turkey
— Keep covering up for Azerbaijan’s horrific war crimes
— Allow Azerbaijan to continue torturing Armenian POWs
— Roll back U.S. recognition of the Armenian Genocide
With your faith and continued friendship, we are fighting back on each of these fronts – going on the offensive to advance policies that align with our core ANCA mission – the North Star of the Armenian Cause – saving Artsakh and strengthening Armenia.
In concrete terms, that means our community and our growing coalition of ethnic and faith-based partners advancing key ANCA priorities:
— Stopping all U.S. military assistance to oil-rich Azerbaijan
— Holding Aliyev accountable for war crimes against Artsakh
— Demanding Azerbaijan’s release of all Armenian POWs
— Securing robust U.S. assistance for families in Artsakh
— Prioritizing U.S. aid that strengthens Armenia’s security
— Blocking the sale of U.S. F-16 fighter jets to Turkey
We have our two week-long ANCA Haroutioun and Elizabeth Kasparian Summer Academy sessions for high-schoolers (August), our six-week ANCA Leo Sarkisian Internship for university students (June-July), and three sessions of our ANCA Hovig Apo Saghdejian Capital Gateway job placement program for recent graduates – plus two sessions of our three-day ANCA Rising Leaders seminars each spring.
All of our ANCA youth programs (anca.org/youth) are based out of the Aramian House, our landmark eight-bedroom property – a vibrant center of Armenian life located in the heart of the nation’s capital.
Collectively, we’ve trained thousands of community leaders and placed hundreds more in policy-making, political, and media jobs across Washington, DC – all because of your generous support.
We invest so much in young Armenians because they’re our future.
In all these ways, our fate today rests in your hands.
So, with the year coming to a close, please make a secure, online Christmas gift, renewing your generous financial support for the ANCA’s advocacy (not tax-deductible) or the ANCA Endowment Fund’s educational work (tax-deductible).
Your investment will bear dividends throughout the New Year – empowering our advocacy and nurturing our next generation, for the coming twelve months and beyond.
As always, I look forward to hearing from you (aram@anca.org) before the end-of-year giving deadline. Whether you can donate this Christmas or not, please know that I remain interested in your thoughts and suggestions, and truly hope you will reach out.
Please accept our heartfelt wishes for a blessed New Year and very merry Christmas.
