YEREVAN (Armenpress) — Armenian wrestler Artur Aleksanyan won gold in the international tournament titled “Dan Kolov-Nikola Petrov” for the third year in a row. “Dan Kolov-Nikola Petrov” is an international wrestling competition that was held this year in Bulgaria.
Aleksanyan was a bronze medalist at the London Olympics, as well as a two-time world champion, and a three-time European champion.
During the tournament, Aleksanyan was matched with Egypt’s Ahmed Osman in the quarterfinals where he defeated him, 8:0. Next, he defeated Iran’s Amirhosein Hosein, again 8:0. In the finals, Aleksanyan was matched with Bulgaria’s Elis Guri whom he beat 4:0 and won the gold for the third year in a row.
