Armenian Heritage Park: Events Take Center Stage on the Greenway

On Sun., Sept. 20, the second annual “Afternoon at the Park for Families & Friends” is being held from 2-4 p.m. Festivities include dancing and enjoying the All-Star Armenian Ensemble, featuring Greg Krikorian (oud/vocals), George Righellis (guitar/vocals), and Dr. Harry Papazian (dumbeg); dance instruction with Apo Ashjian, the director and founder of the Sayat Nova Dance Company of Boston; “The Find Someone” Game for kids who may team up with an adult to play for a chance to win a Boston Duck Tour; and Boston’s iconic Boston ice cream treat, Hoodsies. The event, an initiative of the Friends of Armenian Heritage Park, is co-chaired by Gladys Partamian and Katrina Menzigian Glorikian.

The Armenian Heritage Park

During the coming months, several events are taking place at Armenian Heritage Park on Boston’s Greenway. Continuing are the monthly Labyrinth Walks in collaboration with the Labyrinth Society of New England and the Greenway Conservancy held on the first Wednesday of the month, from May to October, at 12:30 p.m., as well as the Public Art tours that include the park’s Abstract Sculpture and Labyrinth.

The park and its public programs are the result of the commitment and generosity of so many. Now nearing the end of its final phase, the Campaign for Armenian Heritage Park is raising the necessary funds to build the endowment so that the park is impeccably cared for and maintained year round in perpetuity. To date, close to 75 percent of the goal has been raised. Consider making your gift today so that you will be an important part of helping to reach this goal.

A few naming opportunities at the park remain for gifts of $50,000 and above. For more information or to arrange a visit, call James Kalustian (781-643-7758), Charles Guleserian (617-484-6100), Haig Deranian (617-489-9465), Walter Nahabedian (781-891-7249), Astor Guzelian (781-326-5764), George Elanjian (781-888-2227), or Barbara Tellalian (617-803-8785).

All contributions received by June 1, 2016, will be acknowledged in the park’s Commemorative Booklet. Supporters will be acknowledged in the category of giving that combines all contributions. A Thank You Reception for all supporters will be held in November 2016. Contributions may be made on line at www.ArmenianHeritagePark.org or by check, made payable to the Armenian Heritage Foundation and mailed to the Foundation, 25 Flanders Road, Belmont, MA 02478.

If you have included Armenian Heritage Park in your estate plans, inform the Armenian Heritage Foundation in writing so than an invitation may be extended to you to join the Legacy Society of Giving. Please send the letter to Charles Guleserian, Vice President, Armenian Heritage Foundation, 25 Flanders Road, Belmont, MA 02478. Members of the Legacy Society of Giving will be acknowledged in the park’s Commemorative Booklet.
