GLENDALE — The international Christian Women’s World Day of Prayer is celebrated annually on the first Friday of March.  This year’s ecumenical celebration of Southland Armenian churches will be held at St. Mary’s Armenian Apostolic Church, 500 South Central Ave. Glendale, on Friday, March 4, starting at 9:30 for refreshments, 10:30 for prayer and 11a.m. for the worship service.

Two inspirational speakers, one in Armenian and the other in English, will headline the program of women from various participating churches. This year’s worldwide theme was chosen by the women of Cuba.

A committee of women from Armenian churches, Apostolic, Brotherhood, Catholic, Congregational, Evangelical and Nazarene have planned and prepared this 46th annual event.   The World Day of Prayer aims to demonstrate that prayer and action are inseparable and that both have immeasurable influence in the world. Mary Agulian is the coordinator and invites all women to attend.
