The two-hour meeting dealt with the organizations’ ongoing cooperation in Arajamugh village, Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabagh/NKR) where Artsakh Fund is sponsoring a village expansion program. The meeting addressed the current status of the project, in which six houses are under construction with supervision by TF. Discussion also covered ongoing collaboration as well as transition issues, with the ACAA Artsakh Fund gradually assuming responsibility for project implementation.

Both sides agreed the first phase of the project would be completed sometime this winter, upon which six families will be invited to become permanent inhabitants of the village. Initially built by TF in 2004, Arajamugh currently consists of 18 households and approximately 90 inhabitants. With the completion of Phase I, these numbers are expected grow to 24 and 120, respectively.

“We are pleased with the progress made in the village so far,” noted ACAA Chairman Hayg Oshagan. “Given its strategic location in southern Artsakh, we believe Arajamugh, and the liberated territories in general, should become priorities for developing Artsakh’s border regions. We appreciate greatly all the work TF has accomplished in Arajamugh, and look forward to assuming responsibility for the project in 2017,” Oshagan added.

Joining Oshagan and Doudaklian were Artsakh Fund members Alex Sarafian, Antranig Kasbarian, and Raffi Killian. The two sides agreed to continue working closely in reaching their common goal.
