GLENDALE—The Armenian National Committee of America – Glendale (ANCA Glendale) has established the 2018 ANCA Glendale Upstander Scholarship in order to recognize students who have witnessed injustices occur, and as upstanding citizens, taken steps to address those injustices and prevent them from happening in the future.
Two $500 scholarships will be awarded to qualified students who have demonstrated a strong sense of social responsibility, commitment to justice and taken the initiative to stand up for an individual or group of people who are being disadvantaged.

For years we have placed a special emphasis on education and youth mentorship, and it is our sincerest pleasure to announce this scholarship opportunity for GUSD students. Every day we hear about students across the country taking steps to combat injustice and standing up for the disadvantaged. With this scholarship we hope to recognize students from our district who embody the qualities of an Upstander, and support their pursuit of higher education,â€
