ANCA Rapid Responder Letter: Please Call on President Trump to Honestly and Accurately Commemorate the Armenian Genocide

Letter to U.S. Representatives who have not yet co-signed the letter:

I am writing to ask you to co-sign the Armenian Caucus letter urging President Trump to recognize the Armenian Genocide.

For far too long, Ankara has enforced a gag-rule prohibiting Americans from speaking honestly about a known case of genocide – the Ottoman Empire’s systematic campaign to destroy Armenians, Assyrians, Chaldeans, Greeks, Pontians, Syriacs, and other persecuted Christian nations. No foreign government – certainly not as one as authoritarian and anti-American as Turkey – deserves a veto over America’s defense of human rights.

By co-signing this letter, you honor those lost in this atrocity, pay tribute to the Americans who sacrificed so much to help its survivors, and help ensure that the lessons of this terrible crime are applied, today, in preventing similar violence against at-risk minorities across the Middle East.

To support this bipartisan initiative, please contact Brian Laughlin in Rep. Pallone’s office. For additional information about the Armenian Genocide, please reach out to Raffi Karakashian at the ANCA office, raffi@anca.org.

Sincerely,
