Dear Senator / Representative:
I’m writing to urge you to co-sign a bicameral letter led by Senator Alex Padilla and Rep. Anna Eshoo calling for the inclusion of humanitarian and security assistance to Armenia in the upcoming national security supplemental. The deadline to co-sign the letter is 12:00 PM, Friday, December 1, 2023.
The letter calls for at least $10 million in foreign military financing (FMF) for Armenia, consistent with amounts included in S.2900/H.R.5683/H.R.5686 – the bicameral and bipartisan bills that would secure Armenia against further Azerbaijani aggression, and hold Azerbaijan accountable for the ethnic cleansing of Artsakh.
The letter also requests humanitarian assistance allocated in the supplemental to be made available to Armenia to meet the needs of the 120,000 Armenians from Artsakh (Nagorno-Karabakh) forced from their homes following Azerbaijan’s ethnic cleansing of the region’s entire Armenian population in September, 2023.
