YEREVAN (ARMENPRESS)—The Armenia Investment Forum, a large-scale event to be held in New York in fall 2016, aims to promote foreign investment flows into Armenia. The forum will raise awareness of the business and investment environment in Armenia, existing investment possibilities, and to familiarize potential investors with Armenian trading laws.

Armenian Deputy Minister of Economy, Sergey Avetisyan, told journalists that they have been working on preparations for the forum with the Asian Development Bank for a year.

“The aim of the forum is to promote foreign investments in Armenia [and] present competitive advantages of our country,” Avetisyan said.

According to the executive director of the Armenian Development Fund, Arman Khachatryan, the government of Armenia has adopted a vision to overcome the numerous challenges the country faces and to create a competitive economy in the region, which includes next fall’s forum.

David Dole, Armenian Resident Representative of the Asian Development Bank, noted that the bank had provided funding for the event, having confidence in the future of Armenia and its potential for economic development.

The Ameria Group, self-described as Armenia’s premier advisory and financial services provider, is assisting in organizing the forum. Tigran Jrbashyan, Development Director of the America Group, said that they plan on assessing various fields for investment attractiveness, coordinating issues of investment projects, and developing a strategy to reach out to investors.

Dr. Paul Davis, President and Chief Operating Officer of the Pragma Corporation, which conducts preparatory activities of the forum with the America Group, emphasized the importance of foreign investments in the development of the economy of the country.
