Armenian Soldier Killed after a Week of Azeri Ceasefire Violation

STEPANAKERT—Armenian serviceman Sansar Mavrik Grigoryan, 27, was killed by Azerbaijani fire on October 11 in the eastern direction of the Artsakh-Azerbaijan border, reported Nagorno-Karabakh’s Defense Ministry.

In the early hours on Tuesday, the ministry announced that the Azerbaijani side fired gunshots toward Artsakh about 210 times, violating the ceasefire agreement 25 times.

Investigation regarding Grigoryan’s death is underway.

On October 10, Azerbaijani forces violated the ceasefire agreement 50 times, firing 450 bullets aimed at Artsakh.

In the early hours of October 7, Hayk Levon Hambardzumyan, born 1996, was injured during Azeri fire. That morning, AGS-17 type automatic grenade launchers were employed 60 times by Azerbaijan, damaging a military vehicle, while 1800 gunshots were fired.

On October 5, the OSCE Chairperson-in-office, Ambassador Andrzej Kasprzyk, conducted a monitoring exercise on the Line of Contact between Artsakh and Azerbaijan. There were no reports of ceasefire violation during the monitoring.

Last Wednesday, the adversary fired 4000 gunshots toward Artsakh, while a DShk-like machine gun was fired 500 times, reported Artsakh’s Defense Ministry.

The Artsakh Army continues to control the situation at the frontline and remains vigilant in neutralizing acts of aggression.
