Cause of Arax River Pollution Addressed

YEREVAN (Armenpress)”” Armenian Minister of Nature Protection Aramayis Grigoryan met with Energy Minister of Iran Hamid Chitchian and the delegation led by him on December 24 to address the issue of the pollution of Arax River.

Grigoryan, thanking for the visit and highlighting the attention of the Iranian side towards environment, assured that the issue will find a final solution by the end of 2016. “Precise demands are put before Agarak Copper Molybdenum Combine and the latter has promised to fulfill them till the end of 2016. But I have to mention that Arax River enters Armenia to some extent polluted from Nakhichevan, which must also be clarified and steps must be taken in that direction”
