GLENDALE—The grand opening of the newly built Elevate Health Group took place on November 5 and was attended by nearly 200 guests which included Glendale Mayor Ara Najarian, Councilmember Vartan Gharabetian, Glendale School Board member Armine Gharpetian, Glendale Adventist CEO Kevin Roberts, VP Ramella Markarian, and Father Ardak Demirjian among others.
Elevate Health Group offices are located on Chevy Chase, in the city of Glendale, CA, conveniently across the street from Glendale Adventist Medical Center. Elevate Health Group is owned by two Board Certified Internal Medicine Physicians, Dr. Narbeh Tovmassian and Dr. Garen Derhartunian. Both doctors moved with their families from Iran to the US as children and grew up in Glendale. Together they attended the same public elementary, middle and high schools in Glendale and have strong ties to the Armenian community. They also attended Davtian-Mariamian Educational Institution and learned how to read and write Armenian fluently.

Dr. Narbeh Tovmassian has had strong admiration for the field of medicine from a young age. After receiving his BA degree from UCLA, Dr. Tovmassian received his Doctorate of Medicine at Ross University School of Medicine. Upon graduation Dr. Tovmassian completed his Internal Medicine residency in Las Vegas at the University School of Medicine. In his free times Dr. Tovmassian likes to play basketball and golf. Dr. Tovmassian’s wife, Syuzi Tovmassian is the Marketing & Operations Manager at the Elevate Health Group. Dr. Tovmassian has been a member of the Homenetmen Ararat, ANCA, AYF and founded and led the SOAR in Las Vegas.
Dr. Garen DerHartunian has always been interested in medicine. His father owns the local Armen pharmacy in Glendale. Dr. DerHartunian spent most of his childhood helping his father at his pharmacy. After obtaining his BA from the University of California at Santa Barbara, Dr. Derhartunian attended Ross University Medical School. He completed his Internal Medicine residency at NYU-Lutheran Medical Center in Brooklyn. In his free times Dr. DerHartunian enjoys traveling and hiking with his wife Melanie DerHartunian, a pharmacist herself. He has been a member of Ararat Homentmen, ANCA and AYF.

Including Dr. Garen DerHartunian and Dr. Narbeh Tovmassian,, the Elevate Health Center has six employees and is equipped with a large waiting hall, an information center and a number of offices. Despite having a spacious waiting room both doctors are strongly against the idea of making patients sit and wait very long in the waiting room. Patients will be seen according to previously scheduled appointments and a 30 minute visitation period will be dedicated to each patient.
Elevate Health Group is founded on the principles of a traditional Internal Medicine practice and the goal of the health group is to introduce and disseminate preventive health care and medical methods and to bring back traditional values and working style. Patients’ care in this facility will be continuous by their regular physician, whether in the outpatient or hospital setting. Elevate Health Group’s physicians value continuity of care, and hold the belief of it to be the basis of an effective medical practice. The aim at the Elevate Health Group is to provide the patients with the highest level of care, with an evidence based and modern approach.
