YEREVAN (ARKA)—Armenian children will have an opportunity to exchange ideas and learn programming and other skills at the 2015 “Hackathon [YAN] Childhood” innovative ideas contest on December 12 and 13, organized by the Microsoft Innovation Center, the press office of Beeline, a sponsor of the event, reported on Monday.

“Beeline, as a socially responsible operator, supported many programs this year which contribute to the development of the entrepreneurship ecosystem and encourage young people to build their future by using digital technologies,” Andery Pyatakhin, Beeline CEO in Armenia, is quoted in the press release.

Stressing the importance of digital innovation projects, he expressed confidence that some of the ideas presented at the hackathon will become significant contributions to the technology field in Armenia.

This year, the Microsoft Innovative Center will pay special attention to teams which propose cloud solutions for small and medium enterprises. Up to two teams proposing solutions that ease the daily routines of small- and mid-scale businesses will receive 400,000 drams from the Center as a prize and a chance to use the Center’s resources for putting their ideas into practice.

Teams comprised of programmers and amateurs will create prototypes and demo versions of their web and mobile applications. All those who already have teams, who have developed innovative solutions for local or international problems, who want to improve their skills and who want to take part in the Center’s acceleration program and receive help in developing their ideas may compete in the contest.

Seminars will be held as part of the contest where founders of successful startup companies will share their experience with newcomers.
