Printing of First Armenian Bible, Ayvazovsky’s Birthday Included on UNESCO Calendar

PARIS””The 350th anniversary of the first Armenian Bible printed by Voskan Yerevantsi in 1666 and the 200th anniversary of the birth of Hovhannes Ayvazovsky (1817-199) have been included in UNESCO’s 2016-2017 calendar of important cultural achievements and celebrations.

The decision was made at the 28th session of the UNESCO General Conference held in Paris on November 4-18, 2015.

Twenty-one applications by the Republic of Armenia have been included in the UNESCO calendar since 1998.
