As a constituent and on behalf of my family and friends, I am writing to thank you for offering a pro-Artsakh peace amendment to the National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) for Fiscal Year 2020 that is expected to be considered by the House Committee on Rules next week and, soon thereafter, on the floor of the U.S. House of Representatives.
As a strong supporter of the Artsakh Travel and Communication Resolution (H.Res.190) and with a clear understanding of your cosponsorship of that measure – I am very pleased that you are offering an amendment to the NDAA that addresses concrete steps that can be taken to advance peace in the Caucasus. I am also encouraged that your amendment includes the non-deploymnent of snipers, the deployment of gun-fire locators, and an increase in the number of Organization for the Security and Cooperation in Europe observers along the line-of-contact.
On behalf of my friends and family across California’s 27th Congressional District – thank you for your leadership on this pro-peace amendment to the NDAA and, more broadly, for your outstanding leadership on issues of deep concern to the thousands of Armenian Americans who live in your Congressional District.
