20-Year-Old Armenian Serviceman Killed by Azerbaijani Fire

STEPANAKERT, NKR (A.W.)—Armenian serviceman Gurgen Ayvazyan (b. 1996) was killed by Azerbaijani fire at around 5 p.m. on Oct. 26, at a protection area of a military unit located in the northeastern direction of the Nagorno-Karabagh Republic (NKR/Artsakh) Line of Contact (LoC).

According to a statement put out by the NKR Defense Ministry, Azerbaijani Armed Forces continued to violate the ceasefire in different directions of the NKR LoC on Oct. 26, firing rifle shots, as well as AGS-17 grenade launchers and SPG-9 recoilless guns in Talish.

In the statement, the NKR Defense Army also extended its support to the soldier’s family members, relatives, and fellow servicemen.
