10/20/20 - Rep. Napolitano tweeted "The path forward is one of liberty, which is why I am today calling for official U.S. recognition of the Republic of Artsakh’s independence." View the tweet here.

04/24/20 - Rep. Napolitano tweeted "Today marks 105 years since the beginning of the Armenian Genocide, one of the darkest chapters in history. We remember the victims and survivors, many of whose descendants have created the strong, vibrant & patriotic Armenian-American community our nation is blessed with today. Formal recognition of this atrocity remains important for healing and to ensure genocide never happens again. Last year, I was proud to help pass the bipartisan resolution, H.Res. 296, Affirming the United States Record on the Armenian Genocide. Together, we will continue to reject denials of the Armenian Genocide, learning from the painful lessons of our past so we may build a more peaceful future." View the tweet here.

10/29/19 - Rep. Napolitano tweeted "Although it should not have taken this long, today is a historic day. The House just passed H.Res. 296 by a vote of 405-11, finally recognizing the Armenian Genocide. I am honored to have supported this resolution my entire tenure in Congress and to have voted for it today." View the tweet here.

10/29/19 - Rep. Napolitano posted the following to Facebook: "Although it should not have taken this long, today is a historic day. The House just passed H.Res. 296 by a vote of 405 to 11, finally recognizing the Armenian Genocide. The resolution also recognizes the courage and leadership shown at the time by our ambassador Henry Morgenthau, our government, and the American people who provided relief and shelter to the victims of the genocide. Thousands of victims, mostly women and children, were saved by the people of our nation who gave humanitarian assistance to the refugees. Many of the Armenians who fled this crisis immigrated to the United States where they found the freedom and prosperity that our nation provides. The descendants of these genocide survivors have created the strong, vibrant, and patriotic Armenian-American community that our nation is blessed with today. We must honor the sacrifice of their forefathers and reaffirm the U.S. record on the Armenian Genocide. Members of the Armenian-American community have stayed committed to recognizing the incredible injustice their ancestors suffered even while many challenged their bearing witness to the truth. Formal recognition of this genocide is important, not only to help heal, but to ensure genocide never happens again. I am honored to have supported this resolution my entire tenure in Congress and to have voted for it today. https://www.latimes.com/politics/story/2019-10-29/house-approves-resolution-recognizing-armenian-genocide" View the Facebook post here.
