Support Pro-Artsakh Amendments to NDAA
Dear Representative:
I am writing on an urgent basis to ask you to vote YES on two pro-peace amendments to the National Defense Authorization Act.
The first amendment, #21, was introduced by Congressman Brad Sherman. It seeks to prevent any arms transfers that might help Azerbaijan act on its public threat to shoot down civilian aircraft.
The second amendment, #97, was introduced by Rep. Judy Chu. It seeks simply to strengthen the Artsakh-Azerbaijan cease-fire by withdrawing snipers, adding observers, and deploying gunfire locators.
These common-sense amendments aim to help bring about a peaceful and stable situation on the ground – at the line-of-contact –so that the parties can to reach a durable and democratic negotiated settlement at the negotiating table.
I will be following this vote closely, and look forward to reporting your votes and the final outcome to my family, friends, and local community.
