TEHRAN (Armenpress)—Armenian Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Levon Yolyan was on an official visit in Iran July 25-27 for talks on Armenian-Iranian cooperation projects in energy, gas, oil and mining industry as well as prospects of expansion.

During the visit Minister Yolyan had meetings with Iranian Vice President Eshaq Jahangiri, Minister of Energy Hamid Chitchian, Minister of Petroleum Bijan Zangeneh, and Minister of Industries and Business Mohammadreza Nematzadeh.

During the meetings, the Armenian-Iranian cooperation issues were discussed. The sides also touched upon a wide range of regional cooperation matters.

All discussions were held in an atmosphere of mutual understanding and agreement.

The Iranian side expressed interest and willingness to realize different cooperation projects with Armenia, and expansion of partnership.

They also expressed interest in investing in wind power in Armenia, to construct 50MW Wind Power Plants in Armenia as well as opening branches of prestigious Iranian producers.

Possibilities of boosting the construction program of wind powered plants on Araks River were discussed.

The sides touched upon the 3rd Iran-Armenia high voltage power transmission line and the gasification projects of Meghri and Agarak.

The purchase and sale of gas and expansion of cooperation was discussed.

Agreements have been reached with Zangeneh to give a final legal solution to the issue soon.
