UJAN—VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian and Fuller Center for Housing Armenia President Ashot Yeghiazaryan visited the Ujan village in the Aragatsotn Province of Armenia where the Avetisyans completed the construction of their half-built house through the housing project of this year and were celebrating a housewarming.
The three children of the Avetisyan family grew up in their father, Serob’s semi basement that included two small rooms without a kitchen and bathroom. Despite wounds Serob received during the Karabakh war, he attempted to build the house for the future of his children, but was unable to complete it.
”Winters have always been a burden for my family. Cold and damp walls were like punishment. It hurt me each time to feel that my adult children did not have basic housing conditions each person should have. Now my happiness is endless and I am thankful for the support; now the winter won’t be a trouble,” said Serob.
40 families from 10 regions will be living in safe and stable homes this winter due the housing project financed by VivaCell-MTS and implemented by Fuller Center for Housing Armenia.
”Building a house is only part of the work, and VivaCell-MTS willingly takes this burden. Now the owners of the house have to make it a castle for their family, to be strong together and raise their children in warm atmosphere. A house is not only a place where one lives: it is the guarantee of a person’s inner peace, sense of security and completeness. If one feels good at home, he will never think of leaving his country and seeking fortune abroad”, VivaCell-MTS General Manager Ralph Yirikian said.
”The family father has fought for the borders of our Homeland to stay unshaken and for our children to live safely. Today it’s our duty to help each other; only in this case it is possible to build a home with strong basis, a united community and a safe Homeland,” said Fuller Center for Housing Armenia president Ashot Yeghiazaryan.
To remind, this year VivaCell-MTS invested AMD 100 million for the housing project (AMD 55 million was invested in 2014), and the Fuller Center for Housing Armenia has undertaken the implementation of the project. Through this partnership, from 2007 till the end of 2015, the number of the families having their houses renovated or the construction of the half-built houses completed will reach 93.
