WASHINGTON, DC – The Armenian National Committee of America (ANCA) joined with the American Jewish Committee (AJC) and more than thirty national ethnic community leaders last week at Interethnic Thanksgiving Breakfast at the Cosmos Club on Embassy Row in the nation’s capital.

The November 20th breakfast, hosted by the AJC and organized by AJC Washington Chapter Vice President Roberta Baruch, featured a moving reading of “America’s Table: A Thanksgiving Reader.” Among those asked to read aloud a portion of the 16-page booklet celebrating America’s diversity was ANCA Communications Director Elizabeth Chouldjian. She was joined by Leonard Baldyga of the Polish American-Jewish American Council, Shu-Ping Chan from the Montgomery County Office of Community Outreach, and Michael Wegner of the Joint Center for Political and Economic Studies.

“We were pleased to join together this Thanksgiving with ethnic community leaders in celebrating the diverse heritage and the unifying democratic values of the American people,” said Chouldjian. “As Armenian Americans – the descendents of victims of genocide and persecution abroad – Thanksgiving holds special meaning for us as a time of reflection and appreciation for the safe haven, freedoms and opportunities our families found here in the United States.”
