The Armenian National Committee of America – Orange County chapter has officially endorsed Dr. Kevork Abazajian for Irvine City Council.

Twelve candidates are competing for two City council seats this coming 2018 general election and on November 6th, Irvine voters will be able to choose two candidates for a four-year term on City Council. After a long and exhaustive evaluation process, the organization is happy to endorse Dr. Kevork Abazajian.

In this tumultuous time in the American political climate, having scientist and experts run for political office is a welcomed change. Dr. Abazajian is a University of California professor, scientist, and local leader dedicated to improving his city and bringing greater transparency to Orange County politics.
Numerous elected officials like Congressman Alan Lowenthal and Congresswoman Linda Sanchez understand the necessity of having a leader like Dr. Abazajian on City Council.

STEPANAKERT””Presidents of Armenia and Artsakh, Armen Sarkissian and Bako Sahakian met on Monday and discussed ways to advance cooperation between the two Armenian republics. President Sarkissian arrived in Artsakh on Sunday accompanied by First Lady, Nune Sarkissian.

Following the meeting the two presidents together with their spouses toured the central streets of Stepanakert and visited Shushi.

President Sarkissian told reporters at Shushi’s museum of fine arts that he has discussed wide range of issues with his Artsakh counterpart.

“We talked about the domestic situation in Artsakh, the conditions on the border, as well as a number of other issues. We also touched upon the future activity of Hayastan All-Armenian Fund. No one can underestimate the efforts of this structure during all these years,”

SAN MATEO, Calif.””On Monday, October 8, the 17th annual Gerald and Mark Golf Classic was held at The Peninsula Golf and Country Club in San Mateo. The annual event is hosted by community benefactor Hank Khachaturian in memory of his sons Gerald and Mark and to raise funds for charitable causes.

Western Prelate Archbishop Moushegh Mardirossian attended the awards dinner and conveyed his blessing and message. He was accompanied by Very Rev. Fr. Barouyr Shernezian, Pastor of St. Gregory the Illuminator Church in San Francisco, Board of Trustees Chair Rostom Aintablian and community members.

Addressing Khachaturian, the Prelate stated, “It is said that the good you do comes back to you. GLENDALE””The Armenian American Museum and Cultural Center of California will honor the Glendale City Council at its Inaugural Gala on Sunday, December 9, at the Glendale Hilton. Glendale Mayor Zareh Sinanyan and Councilmembers Ara Najarian, Paula Devine, Vartan Gharpetian, and Vrej Agajanian will be recognized for dedicating premier land for the cultural and educational center.

The Glendale City Council unanimously approved the Armenian American Museum’s Ground Lease Agreement in August 2018, officially marking Glendale Central Park as the future site of the Museum. The historic decision marked a major milestone for the landmark project, culminating four years of collaboration and partnership between the Museum and City of Glendale.
