Los Angeles, CA – As one of three Interns for the Armenian National Committee – Western Region’s Spring 2008 Internship – Externship Program (ANC-WR IEP), Christine Semerdjian has immersed herself in the dynamic and fast-paced world of Hai Tahd. As a Community and Government Affairs intern, Semerdjian has been actively organizing a voter registration drive along with the assistance of her fellow interns.
“As the community and government affairs intern for the ANC-WR, I first-handedly experienced how the organization reflects its vast knowledge and familiarity about Armenian related issues to individuals such as myself,” stated Semerdjian. “Opportunities such as attending the California Republican Party Spring Convention in San Francisco opened my eyes to an area that I otherwise would not have been exposed to if it was not for the ANC-WR”, she added.
Sermedjian will graduate from Woodbury University in May with an honors degree, a Bachelor of Arts in Communication and a minor in Politics and History. She plans to attend law school in the fall of 2009.
Semerdjian’s experience working at Interep Radio Sales for three years as a National Sales Coordinator equipped her with valuable experience that she was able to implement with the voter registration project. Semerdjian looks forward to utilizing the knowledge and experience she gained during her tenure as an intern at the ANC-WR in her future endeavors.
