New York, NY- In commemoration of the 93rd Anniversary of the Armenian Genocide, Armenian National Committee of America chapters throughout the Eastern Region are preparing for their commemorative activities. Throughout the month of April, activists will be working to preserve the history of this mass crime by holding various events including rallies, lectures, and solemn remembrances.

MID ATLANTIC:
NEW JERSEY: April 24th, 7 pm Requiem Service, 8pm program at St. Vartanantz Church, Speaker Khatchig Mouradian.
NEW YORK: April 25th, 5:30 pm, City Hall Chambers, Corner of Chambers St. & Broadway. Speaker, Henry Theriault, invocation by the Prelate, Archbishop Oshagan Choloyan.
April 26th: AYF’s “March Towards Justice” 1-6 pm, event begins at St. Illuminator’s Church and ends at Dag Hammarskjold Plaza by the United Nations. For more information visit www.ayf.org.
April 27th: Times Square Rally, 2-4 pm.
PHILADELPHIA: April 24th, 6:30pm, Philadelphia Intercommunal Committee Badarak and Program at Holy Trinity Armenian Church.
April 26th, 1pm, Philadelphia Art Museum: Armenian Genocide Commemorative Walk and Program, organized by all churches and organizations.
WASHINGTON, DC: April 20th, 1 pm, program at Soorp Khatch Armenian Church.
April 23rd: Capitol Hill Observance, Longworth House Office Building Room 1105, Reception 4:30 to 5:30 pm; Longworth House Office Building, Room 1100, Program 6 pm – 8 pm.
April 24th: Demonstration in front of the Turkish Embassy organized by the AYF 4 pm to 6pm; Wreath laying ceremony at the Armenian Embassy 6:30 pm. Buses leave from Soorp Khatch Armenian Church at 3 pm and return at 7 pm.
NEW ENGLAND:
BOSTON: April 24th: The Greater Boston Committee to Commemorate the Armenian Genocide, program Dikran Kaligian and Steve Kurkjian are the featured speakers.
CONNECTICUT: April 26th, 10 am, Connecticut State Capitol, guest speakers Rep. John C. Geragosian (D-25), ANCA ER Executive Director: Karine Birazian.
MERRIMACK VALLEY: April 19th, 9:30 am, Annual Flag Raising, special guest speaker, Cong. Niki Tsongas (D-MA-5).
PROVIDENCE: April 23rd, 6 pm, flag raising, Cranston City Hall. Mayor Michael T. Napolitano.
April 24th, 10 am, flag raising, North Providence Town Hall. Mayor Charles A. Lombardi.
MID WEST:
GRANITE CITY: April 20th, Commemorative Requiem service and program organized by the ANC of S. Illinois at the Granite City Church, followed by viewing of the movie “Screamers.”
ILLINOIS: April 24th, rally 11am – 1pm, organized by ANC of IL, Turkish Consulate.
April 26th, ANC of IL, 7:30 pm, program. Speakers, Dr. Henry D. Astarjian, IL Rep. John A. Fritchey, and Cong. Daniel Lipinski (D-IL-3).
April 27th, Church Requiem Service, ARS Blood Drive 11 am -3 pm.
MICHIGAN: April 20th, 1:30 pm, United Genocide Committee of Greater Detroit hosts commemorative event with speaker Rosemary Russell Boze at St. Johns Armenian Church Cultural Hall, Southfield, MI
WISCONSIN: April 24th, ANC of WI and members of the WI Assembly & Senate, Day of Remembrance, 11am the Assembly Parlor of the WI State Capitol. Joint commemorative Church services at 7pm at St. John the Baptist Armenian Church.
OTHER REGIONS
SOUTH FLORIDA: April 24th, 7-9pm, Joint Commemorative event at St. Mary Armenian Apostolic Church & Hall, service and program.
