Discussion with author Mardig Madenjian

ALTADENA, California—An author discussion of Mardig Madenjian’s book, Ravished Paradise, Forced March to Nothingness, about the Armenian Genocide will take place on November 5 from 3-5pm at the Altadena Library’s community room. The address is 600 East Mariposa St. Altadena, California 91001.

In his book, Madenjian writes about his parents’ refusal to speak about their life during the Armenian Genocide.

Ravished Paradise won the Hollywood Book Festival’s 2016 History Book Award and received much praise in the literary world. Kirkus Reviews stated “In this ambitious work of narrative history, a son of survivors of a genocide revisits the past that they could not. An exhaustively researched book about a tragic event in modern history.”

Madjenian has lived in Pasadena, California since 1986 and has worked as an editor of an Armenian English Newspaper for four years. Following his mother’s death in 2001, he began researching about his heritage. Ravished Paradise is the first of a trilogy, as the second volume, Reclaiming Ravished Paradise, will soon be published
