“Hye Votes” Voter Registration Drive Launched by ANCA-WR
Glendale, CA – The ANCA-WR is launching a region-wide voter
registration drive called Hye Votes to further promote civic engagement and activism in the Armenian-American community. The timely launch is in an election year where electoral battles will likely be decided by slim margins and where the votes of sizable and
high-propensity voting Armenian-American communities can be the determining factor between victory and defeat.
Working through its strong network of local chapters and utilizing its deep ties in the Armenian community, the ANCA-WR will be registering new voters at events, churches, schools, and community centers throughout the western United States.
ANCA-WR Chairwoman, Nora Hovsepian, said, “We have organized many successful voter registration drives in the past but this one will be more far-reaching and thorough than any others.” She continued, “This election year is going to be very important for the Armenian-American community and we want every one of our eligible community members to have a voice in elections that will undoubtedly impact their lives.”
Community members are encouraged to look for Hye Votes stations and registration tables throughout the western United States and to actively outreach in their own families and circles of friends.
The voter registration drive will be ongoing at least through Election Day, November 6, 2012.
The Armenian National Committee of America-Western Region is the largest and most influential Armenian American grassroots advocacy organization in the Western United States.
