ANC of Pennsylvania Organizes Phone Bank to Support Daylin Leach for Congress

May 9, 2014

Philadelphia, PA – Armenian National Committee of Pennsylvania (ANC-PA) activists lent their voices to a phone bank in support of Congressional hopeful Daylin Leach at his campaign office in Philadelphia on Monday, April 28, 2014.

Currently serving in the Pennsylvania State Senate, Senator Daylin is running for the 13th Congressional District of Pennsylvania. During his tenure, Daylin has been the leading voice for the Armenian people by introducing a yearly resolution memorializing the Armenian Genocide. He has also educated Pennsylvanians on Armenian history and culture by hosting public expositions in the Capitol.

“It’s been wonderful to see Daylin represent so many important issues in Pennsylvania over the years, including those important to Armenians. This was my first time volunteering for a campaign and I’m glad that it was in support of Daylin,” said ANC-PA and Armenian Relief Society “Artemis” Executive member,
Madonna Kzirian.

The 13th District includes parts of Philadelphia and Montgomery counties, and many towns populated with Armenian Americans. The seat is currently occupied by Congresswoman Allyson Schwartz, who – like Daylin – has been a strong advocate of Armenian American issues. Rep. Schwartz is vacating the seat in order to run for Governor.

Members of the ANC-PA, which included Shant and Angela Aghajanian, Phil Nigon, Aram Frounjian, Madonna Kzirian, Gevork Dramgotchian, and Nora Kzirian, made calls to registered voters to encourage them to vote for Daylin during the upcoming Democratic primary on May 20. The winner of that race will go on to challenge the Republican candidate on Election Day in November.

“It was a privilege to help Daylin’s Congressional campaign today. As someone who lives in the District, I’m looking forward to May 20 to do my part to help get the right guy in office,” said ANC-PA and Armenian Youth Federation “Sebouh” Executive member, Gevork Dramgotchian.

The Democratic Primary Election will take place on Tuesday, May 20. For more information on ANCA-endorsed Leach and his campaign, visit today.
