Urge Community to Vote on November 19th

On Monday, November 11, the ANCA San Fernando Valley North and West Chapters hosted a successful fundraiser for State Assembly candidate for the 45th district, Matt Dababneh. The 45th district includes a large Armenian American community in the western San Fernando Valley.

The fundraiser took place at the Arshavir Shiragian Armenian Center in Granada Hills, injecting the campaign with an influx of donations, energy and support. Among the attendees were constituents of the district, community leaders, and representatives of the ANCA WR Board working in unison to rally support for Dababneh. “The ANCA WR feels confident in Matt’s record on issues of concern to the Armenian Community,” remarked Nora Hovsepian, Esq., Chair of the ANCA Western Region Board of Directors. “We’re delighted that our local chapters have hosted this fundraiser to support his campaign after a full Western Region endorsement” concluded Hovsepian.

Seeking to become the next representative of California’s 45th Assembly District, Matt Dababneh has advanced from the primary election and is looking forward to the runoff on November 19th. Speaking to the crowd, Matt exclaimed, “I have always felt very close to this community, your help and support mean a great deal to me and my campaign.”

The 45th Assembly district encompasses territories of both the ANCA West and North Valley chapters encompassing cities with a large Armenian American presence including Encino, Northridge, Canoga Park, Reseda, West Hills, Winnetka and Woodland Hills. The chapters worked together to make the event a success by reaching out to voters in the district to attend, donate and support. “The fundraiser was a great success,” exclaimed Pierre Yenokian, Chairman of the ANCA San Fernando Valley-North Chapter. “The community came together to support Matt tonight, and the voters in the district should continue their support and cast their votes for Matt Dababneh on the 19th,” concluded Yenokian.

Matt Dababneh has been Congressman Brad Sherman’s aide and chief of staff for approximately ten years. In those capacities, he has developed extensive ties with the Armenian Community before his candidacy. “The community responded tremendously to endorsing Matt Dababneh and creating an opportunity where community members could speak to Matt and donate to his campaign,” stated Nareg Kitsinian, Esq. Chairman of the ANCA San Fernando Valley – West Chapter. “We’re optimistic this gathering propels his campaign to victory,” added Kitsinian

“I’m excited for Matt Dababneh’s run for political office,” noted a voter who was present at the event. “Matt has been a great friend to the community in the past, and it is going to be great having him as our representative to the State Assembly in Sacramento.”
