WATERTOWN, MA – Members of Congress will join the Armenian American community in the 7th annual Capitol Hill Observance marking the 86th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide perpetrated by the Ottoman Turkish government. The Congressional Observance, co-hosted by Senator Jack Reed (D-RI) and US Representative Joseph Knollenberg (R-MI) and sponsored by the Armenian National Committee of America, will take place on Tuesday, May 8, in the historic Senate Caucus Room (SR-325). The program will begin at 5:30 pm.

The ANCA’s Annual Congressional Observance provides Members of Congress the opportunity to commemorate the Armenian Genocide with members of the Armenian American community. Senator Reed and Representative Knollenberg, this year’s key co-hosts, have been consistent supporters of initiatives to recognize and commemorate the Armenian Genocide.

Joining Armenian Americans and Members of Congress will be survivors of the Armenian Genocide, members of the diplomatic community, and leaders of human rights organizations.
